Yard Waste & Leaf Collection
Disposal Information
Upper Uwchlan Township has thirty-six (36) curbside yard waste and leaf collections annually. These collections take place on Wednesdays; the dates are listed below.
What to do
Place leaves, yard waste, and grass clippings in biodegradable bags or in open containers (without any attached lids) for disposal. Tree limbs (no larger than 3" diameter x 3' long) must be bundled with string/twine. To guarantee collection, place materials curbside the night before.
Biodegradable bags (5-pack for $2.50) are available for purchase at the Township Office, 140 Pottstown Pike, Chester Springs PA 19425
What NOT to do
DO NOT use plastic bags as these collections are composted. Leaf and yard waste debris in plastic bags will not be collected. DO NOT place yard waste in your UUT trash toters. Yard waste placed in these toters will not be picked up. DO NOT include construction materials with your yard waste. DO NOT overload bags with dirt or mulch. Biodegradable bags / open containers that are filled with dirt or mulch will not be collected as they may be too heavy to lift or break during lifting.
How to dispose of dirt and mulch
Homeowners can dispose of mulch in the Township compost dumpster or pay for a special collection by the Hauler. Disposal of dirt requires the homeowner to pay for a special collection by the Hauler.
Drop-Off collection of yard waste
If you have yard waste, leaves, etc. for disposal and cannot wait for curbside collection, a dumpster for compostable materials only is available at the Public Works facility located at 132 Oscar Way, Chester Springs, 19425. DO NOT use plastic bags; Do not leave excess materials outside of the dumpster.
