[ARCHIVED] Declaration of Emergency - 2-5-2014

In order to allow for a quick and efficient storm response, a Declaration of Emergency is now in affect. Many areas of Upper Uwchlan Township have experienced a significant number of downed trees and wires causing several roadway closures. As of 0745 a.m. PECO reported 1,891 customers without electricity. The Public Works Department continues to cut and remove trees blocking roadways only when electric lines are not involved. The Township traffic signal system is on battery back-up and/or generator power. If possible, please stay off of the roadways and allow crews to clear trees and debris. If you are out on the roadways and come upon downed wires DO NOT approach or touch them. Homeowners are responsible for the removal of all debris from their property. Dumpsters will be placed in a limited number of locations (to be posted shortly) to facilitate clean-up. If you are without electricity, please report the outage to PECO at 1-800-841-4141.
