The commission's seven members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors to three-year terms. Current members include:

Historical Commission Purpose

  • Encourage preservation of Upper Uwchlan Township’s historic structures, resources, sites and landscapes – via protection, restoration, renovation &/or repurposing
  • Update and maintain Historic Resource Inventory & Atlas of historic properties throughout the Township
  • Encourage preservation of the Byers Station Historic District and the traditional village architecture in our locally recognized villages of Eagle, Font, and Lyndell
  • Educate the public on Upper Uwchlan Township’s history and heritage via history talks at the Upland Farm Barn, open houses at the Upland Farm Farmhouse Museum, history exhibits at the Township Block Party, history talks and exhibits for the Struble Trail history programs and other opportunities as they arise.
  • Coordinate with Township and outside consultants to implement and enforce Historic Resource Protection Ordinances by reviewing and making recommendations on proposed buildings, subdivisions, land developments, permits and Historic Resource Impact Statements
