Update - Street Sweeping Delayed

Update - April 27, 2017
Delivery of the new street sweeper/vacuum truck has been delayed. Street sweeping operations are now expected to take place in May.

The Upper Uwchlan Township Public Works Department staff plan to commence street sweeping operations this month.

In January, the Board of Supervisors approved a lease/purchase agreement of a street sweeper/vacuum truck, which will eliminate the cost of hiring a contractor for the annual street sweeping and for storm water inlet cleaning. The purchase will also allow for repeat sweeping of streets that require more consistent maintenance without the added cost of a second rental.

Delivery of the purchased vehicle is expected the last week of April, at which point street sweeping will begin. The exact dates of the sweeping will be announced on the Township website:

Street sweeping operations remove debris from Township streets, allowing for the proper functioning of storm water management facilities such as inlets. Parking restrictions will be put in place during street sweeping to expedite operations.
